The Mafia Wars fight tournament in Las Vegas is a great feature to the game. Understanding how it works and how to win the fights will gain you some nice rewards and also the tournament collection trophies.

The fight tournaments are made up of 8 classes and each class then has 3 event tournaments to fight in. Regional, National and then World. You have to complete the Regional championship before entering into the National and you have to then complete the National before you can enter into the World event.

So you have picked your fight class (for example Flyweight), and you have chosen the Regional event. You will now see 8 Mafia Wars players (including yourself). This shows you all the players entered into the fight tournament and you can make bets on any player including yourself to win. The tournament will also show you the odds of that player winning making it easier for you to decide where to place your bets.

After you have placed your bets (which is optional), you are placed in a tournament structure which consists of 3 rounds of fights. You can choose to fight each round or choose to fight all which will quickly fight all the rounds and produce a winner.

From fighting and winning in the tournaments you can gain Victory coins which can then be spent in the Fight Club to buy various weapons and bonuses.
